This FREE high schoool equivalency test option gives out-of-school youth and adults an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and earn a state-issued high schoool equivalency credential. The HiSet exam is making a powerful difference in adult education and available here at Lisbon Adult & Community Education! 

Intake appointments are made on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings between 5-8P!

HSD Review & Analysis

As part of our dedication to helping you achieve your educational goals, we offer a FREE High School Diploma program. Based on the graduation requirements of Lisbon School Dept, we do a review and analysis of your accumulated high school credits and determine what and how we can help you achieve your graduation goals! 

This is a FREE opportunity, by appointment here at our Lisbon Adult & Community Education program, located at Gartley School.

Appointments are made on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings between 5-8P.

Keyboarding Review

Calendar Sep 5, 2017 at 5 pm, runs for 10 weeks

Overview of basic computer skills, an easy to use 'roadmap' to prepare students for daily use of the computer for communication. This is not a substitute for a full 'typing class'. Keyboarding skills will need to be demonstrated at a 25 WPM minimum.

Four main skill areas will be covered; Mouse skills, Navigation skills, Keyboarding skills & word processing skills. 

Science Refresher

PLATO based learning platform in 2 Parts. Course goals include understanding vocabulary and key concepts of these subjects. PLATO Courseware is broken down into a variety of lessons and activities to improve students' knowledge and aligns with ABE & HSD standards. 

Part 1 covers Life Science & Earth/Space Science

Part 2 covers Physical Science

This class is held on Tuesdays beginning Oct 2nd, between 5-8P. Enrollment is on-going, but computers are assigned by appointment. 

Social Studies Refresher

StoryTime Adventure Hour

A FREE Family Literacy Event at LACE!

We are excited to announcing that we will be will extending a FREE Literacy Opportunity at LACE! StoryTime Adventure Hours will be targeting children at the 2-4yr old age range, not yet enrolled into a district preschool program.

During these StoryTime Adventure Hours, an Adult Education Instructor will be providing family literacy techniques to use in your own home and daily routines. Also including a hands-on activity for each child!

Join Miss Kelli in the gym at 19 Gartley Street, Lisbon for a StoryTime Adventure Hour! As a bonus: each child participating brings home a copy of the monthly book (only one book per family/child participating)!

Each StoryTime Adventure hours has it’s own theme that will be explored with a specially selected story & hands-on activity! Registration is required so that we can prepare accordingly. We have a MINIMUM of 5 registered to HOLD & MAXIMUM of 15 for each event.
